Spider Hunt

All program at Prairie Ridge currently require registration. Please register for this program for ages 8+ here. Let’s go on a spider hunt! We’ll explore the prairie and forest to track down intricate webs and their weavers while diving into the fascinating world of spider biology and the many ways these eight-legged neighbors help our ecosystem. We’ll be using iNaturalist to do some identifying along the way and submit our observations to contribute to collaborative science. This program will prepare you for the NC Spider Search taking place October 3-11, in which you can earn an embroidered spider badge or sticker! It will be helpful to have the free iNaturalist app downloaded prior to this program.
