20 years of conservation success: the comeback of blue-throated macaws Join us along with the Wake Audubon Society in the SECU Daily Planet Theater for a special presentation with Dorothy Paterson, executive director for Bird Endowment. Ms. Dorothy Paterson, the President & Executive Director of Bird Endowment, will join us via Zoom to deliver “Twenty Years of Conservation Success: The Comeback of Blue-Throated Macaws” inside the SECU Daily Planet Theater. Blue-Throated Macaws are a critically endangered parrot native exclusively to the Beni Savannas of north-central Bolivia. Only 300-500 individuals remain in the wild. Their severe decline is driven by habitat loss, the illegal pet trade, and the historic use of its feathers in traditional dances.
